OverDrive Help

For step-by-step instructions on how to get started, how to use the OverDrive app, and how OverDrive works on your specific device, visite OverDrive Help.  You can troubleshoot, use the search bar to type your own inquiry, browse the video tutorials, or explore the categories.  A link to the quick start guides to OverDrive is posted below.  Please don't hesitate to visit me in the library or email me to discuss any questions you may have.  Also, I would love to hear your feedback on your OverDrive experiences.

Get Started with the OverDrive App on your Device:

Step 1
Download the OverDrive app from your device's app store.

Step 2
If prompted, sign in to OverDrive.  If you have never used OverDrive, you will need to create an account.  For consistency, I suggest using your school apps email account and password.

Step 3
Find and save our library's OverDrive collection in the OverDrive app.  Search "Homewood City Schools" and star it to add the library to your OverDrive account.

Step 4
Open Homewood City Schools' OverDrive Collection, sign in (use your student login username and password) , and borrow a title.

Step 5
Go to your Checkouts page under My Account to see your borrowed titles.  From here you can
  • Add titles to your Bookshelf in the OverDrive app.
  • Read or listen to titles directly in your browser (without adding them to the app).
  • Send Kindle books to your Kindle device or Kindle reading app. For this option, choose the download option Kindle Book. Once confirmed, you will be directed to the Amazon's Digital Library Loan page and prompted to login to your Amazon account to get the book added.
